Christian Counseling Center is committed to the healing of persons
and relationships through the ministry of professionally trained therapists
and pastors. It is our belief and experience that skilled therapeutic
interventions are empowered by Gods healing love to bring about
the most effective and long-term transformations in peoples
lives. Personal, relational, psychological and spiritual needs are
met through prayer, supportive Christian compassion and experienced
professional counseling in a safe and confidential environment for
individuals, couples and families.
We provide four interacting levels of counseling services to the community:
-
1. Pastoral Counseling ordained ministers address faith
issues, provide premarital and relationship counseling on a limited
basis, and give spiritual guidance and support through life crises
and transitions.
2. Professional Counseling licensed therapists provide
individual, couples and family counseling for a variety of personal
issues and relational difficulties from a Christian perspective.
3. Life Education Classes professional therapists and pastors
provide educational workshops, parenting classes, couples retreats
and pastoral renewals to increase interpersonal skills and problem-solving
abilities in personal, marital, family and congregational life.
4. Therapy and Support Groups the counselors lead groups which
address a variety of concerns, including parenting skills, codependency
and recovery issues.
Fees for Professional Services:
Cliff Drive Christian Counseling
Center is a non-profit organization, so professional counseling fees
are adjusted to each persons annual income and range from $50
- $135 for each 1 hour session. Classes and group sessions range from
$20 - $60 per session when led by professional counselors. Pastoral
counseling is available at no charge to persons attending the Free
Methodist Church of Santa Barbara. A donation of $135 per pastoral
counseling session is requested of those who do not attend the Free
Methodist Church. Donations are used for the operational expenses
of Cliff Drive Christian Counseling Center and for providing scholarships
for counseling to those in financial need.
Why Christian Counseling?
When we are
struggling with life, we often look to professionals for help. When
those professionals trained in psychological counseling also share
our faith in God and commitment to Biblical teachings, there is
a common ground established for mutual understanding and insight.
Christian counselors who share our trust and reliance on God for
wisdom, direction, healing and the power to make positive changes
help us by directing us back to our "Highest Power". We
are also able to more easily build a therapeutic relationship because
we trust in their ability to be used by Him to discern the truth
of difficult situations, guide our personal insights and choices,
and serve as our mediators in relational conflict.
